The Devil is the arcana of the chain worn loosely: a pull that holds precisely because some part of us enjoys being held. The scene here is small and honest. A shoe that has been off limits for years and is still worth a long look on the way past, or one green leaf, after which the rest of the room stops existing. If someone is loitering by the shoe rack with no stated business, this is the card.
Reversed
Reversed, the pull turns inward. The wanting is still there and goes unmentioned: a long look at the shelf, a pause by the shut cupboard, nothing acted on. Holding an appetite costs more than it looks like from outside. A good day for noticing what your companion keeps glancing at, and for saying nothing about it.
Reversed is not bad news here. It is the same energy turned inward instead of outward.
In the dog deck
They know they shouldn't, and yet. The forbidden thing calls and calls. Today resistance is harder than most days.
Try today Bring out the best toy instead and let them redirect that hunger toward play.
In the cat deck
The Catnip Spell
One whiff and the whole world disappears. Today they know they're chasing that scent, know how much they want it—and they can't stop anyway.
