The Lovers is less about romance than about choosing, two figures under a blessing and one path taken instead of another. Here the choice arrives with no deliberation at all. Out of four people on one sofa a forehead lands against yours, and out of an entire apartment your lap is the only surface rated for sitting. Being picked that plainly is rare. It also means standing up is now a negotiation.

Reversed

Reversed, the devotion turns inward. Closeness is felt rather than demonstrated: no head bump, no following you from room to room, only a body settled in the same air as yours and content with that much. The bond has not loosened at all. It has simply stopped needing to be proved today, and neither of you has to get up.

Reversed is not bad news here. It is the same energy turned inward instead of outward.
