At home
Shows up right on cue for meals, walks, and naptime — always at your side. When you head to the bathroom, it waits by the door; when you move to another room, it follows. Your shadow, inseparable and devotedly quiet.
Out and about
Meets another dog on a walk and quietly observes from behind you first — approaches only after deciding it is safe. At a cafe, your side is obviously the best spot in the place; the center of a crowd holds no appeal. Strangers are studied from a distance, and only once assessed as trustworthy does a proper greeting happen.
With you
When you settle in with a book, it quietly relocates to your feet. Work late into the night and it stays alert on the nearby cushion. On days when you look sad, it comes closer than usual and simply sits with you. This dog's presence *is* your daily routine — you wake anticipating it, you end each day beside it.
